CODE OF CONDUCT FOR NATIONAL REPRESENTATIVES

I, the undersigned,___________________________________________,

In my capacity as Fencer / Coach / Administrator, acknowledge that my selection to represent South Africa at the 2005 World Fencing Championships is both an honour and a privilege, and it carries with it the responsibility to act as an Ambassador for my Country and the South African Amateur Fencing Association.
 

 

I HEREBY PLEDGE THAT I WILL :

1. conduct myself with the dignity and honour expected of such as Ambassador at all times;
2. always be mindful of the impression that others may gain of my Country and Sport as a result of my actions;
3. exercise the highest degree of sportsmanship possible, both on and off the piste, and will treat my fellow team members, and all other competitors and officials with respect;
4. categorically refrain from all forms of prohibited substance abuse, including:
the use, in any form, for any purpose, of any performance enhancing substance or method prohibited by the South African Amateur Fencing Association (SAAFA ) or the Fédération Internationale d’Escrime (FIE );
5. abide by all regulations and rulings made or prescribed by the FIE and/or the Organisers and Administrators of any competition in which I may participate in my capacity as a representative of my Country;
6. honour all requests made in good faith by any such Organisers;
7. abide by all decisions, made in good faith, by the Management of the South African Fencing Team, alternatively by the Executive Committee of SAAFA, unless incompatible with the ethics and ideals which I have herein pledged myself to uphold
